I’m sad to see you go…

Posted in Blog Tours tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 10:58 am by Christine Rice

My month-long blog tour is nearing its end. I feel like I’m losing a friend. It’s been fun seeing all the posts about Freelance Writing Guide and keeping in touch with the blog tour participants. It took me one month to organize the tour and one month for the tour itself, and now, it’s coming to a close. I will miss all of the fun I’ve had. I hope you’ve had fun too – learning readers’ opinions about my book, getting to read an excerpt from the book, learning more about me, and reading some guest posts I wrote of tips for freelance writers. I really appreciate your participation in my blog tour. I know some of you are following along and reading the posts. My husband is too!

In addition to enjoying the experience, I’ve learned a lot. A blog tour is a fun time and helpful for promoting one’s book, but it is A LOT of work. First, I had to find bloggers who would be willing to participate in my tour. During that time I also finished the edits of my book and published it. Then I sent out the ebook copies to the bloggers. Then I was answering interview questions for a bunch of different interviews. Then the tour started. I answered more interview questions and wrote some guest posts. Almost every day, I promoted each of the bloggers’ posts in up to 10 places on the Web. I also published a few blog posts here to keep you all included in the tour.

I will be publishing a blog post this week with tips on how authors can successfully run their own blog tours, so keep an eye out for that if you are an author who is interested in having a blog tour someday. Now, I will share with you where the tour has been during the last few days and where it is going to be in the next, and last, two days. Boohoo :(

Last Wednesday – September 19th – Chris Eboch published my guest post on “Tips for Writing for Content Websites.” If you are interested in writing for Yahoo, Suite101, Helium, or other sites, you should check out this post! On Thursday, Ansuyo reviewed Freelance Writing Guide on her blog: Writing with Both Sides of my Brain. Her review is detailed, honest, and well-balanced. If you’re interested in writing professional book reviews, you should check out my guest post from Friday, “Professional Book Reviewing Tips,” on YaminaToday.com. Yesterday, my guest post, “Three Important Tips for Freelance Writers,” was posted on Literary Lunes Publications.

Today, there is an interview with me and Sandra of JeanzBookReadNReview. The interview questions are pretty unique, so check it out for new information about me and my books! Tomorrow – Monday, September 24th – I will be interviewed by Chris at TheWriteChris. Check out that interview to learn my takes on publishing, promotion, and writing groups, and my advice for new writers and what I’ve learned as a freelance writer. Tuesday – the last day of the tour – will bring you back here where there will be a special surprise!

Have fun at the next stops of the tour and please come back here Tuesday! Have a great day!

Posted in Blog Tours, Books, Publishing, Self-Publishing tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 9:49 am by Christine Rice

Good morning, everyone!

I hope your day is going well so far. I just want to take a moment to update you on my blog tour.

My interview on Jess Resides Here went well. I also enjoyed writing the guest post on From the Boothell Cotton Patch, which is an author bio and an excerpt from chapter 8 of Freelance Writing Guide! Chapter 8 is about blogs and websites, so if you’re looking for tips on how to design a blog or website, put up great content in the right places, and make it successful and profitable, you should check out this post!

Today, I am at RD Meyer Writes where there is an honest and thoughtful review of my book and an interview. In the interview, I talk about freelance writing, my book, my works-in-progress, my take on the change of the publishing industry, and more! You should check it out!

The next few days involve a book review on Honesty…in writing, an interview on Karen Elizabeth Brown, and a review on Theresa Leschmann, Author. There will be many more blog stops after that. In fact, for the remainder of the tour – until September 25th – there will be a stop every day! Join me in on the fun, and don’t forget to come back here on the last day of the tour for a special treat for all of you!

Have a great weekend!

Christine

What a Great Blog Tour!

Posted in Blog Tours tagged , , , , , , , at 9:14 pm by Christine Rice

I am having a blast with my blog tour! I have really enjoyed the reviews and interviews that have been posted so far. I feel blessed to have worked with so many great people on this tour, and the feedback on my book has been wonderful.

Since my last post, this is where my blog tour has been: I stopped at Teresa Morrow~Author/Writer/Poet and The Literary Review for great interviews. Thanks so much Teresa and C.M. Truxler! There have also been reviews at Shayna Gier, The Literary Review, Raven’s Art Shack, and Lgib-Bookreview. Thank you Shayna, C.M. Truxler, Ann, and Shalini!

Here is what is coming up next for the tour: I will be interviewed on Jess resides here on September 12th. There will be an excerpt from Freelance Writing Guide and an author bio on From the Bootheel Cotton Patch on September 13th. On September 14th, there will be an interview and a review on RD Meyer Writes. And on September 15th, there will be a review on Honesty….in writing. I am really looking forward to all those stops!

I hope to see you throughout this week at the blogs where the tour will be stopping. Leave me a comment on the blog posts to let me know you stopped by. I will update you again in the beginning of next week with details for the third week of the Freelance Writing Guide blog tour! Have a great week, everyone!

What is going on

Posted in Blog Tours, Books, Editing, Writing tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 6:02 pm by Christine Rice

I am very busy with work right now and that makes me really happy. I feel a little taxed from being at the computer all day, but I’m really enjoying the work I’m doing.

The blog tour is going excellently! So far I have been at the “Writers and Readers” group at Goodreads for three days doing a Q&A session, at Literary Lunes Publications for an interview, and at The Writer’s Block for an interview with Vanessa Eccles.

Tomorrow the tour will stop at Teresa Morrow~Author/Writer/Poet for another interview. Don’t worry; there are plenty of reviews of Freelance Writing Guide coming up towards the middle and end of the tour. In fact, on September 7th there will be a review on ShaynaGier.com. Other reviews to come will be on September 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 17, 18, & 20. There will also be guest posts, book excerpts, author bios, and a surprise – right here – at the end of the tour!

If all goes well for the entire tour, I will write and publish a blog post about how authors can effectively run a blog tour.

I’ve also been doing finishing touches on interview questions and guest posts for the tour. Fortunately, that is all taken care of now.

Actually, I’ve been so busy lately with networking, my blog tour, and writing that I haven’t read from a book in about a week! I miss it and will hopefully be back to it soon.

I hope to begin working on Chronicles of a Troubled Girl again by the end of the month. It pains me, because I am so close to finishing it, but I’m happy Freelance Writing Guide has been published, since I started writing it first.

I have been working on getting word out about my editing services. So if you or anyone you know could use having their writing edited by a professional, I do thorough editing and proofreading on all types of writing for only $1.00 per double-spaced page (250 words). To view my credentials, you can visit my website. I will even edit a sample of your writing for Free, so that you can evaluate the quality of my editing services and can decide if you want me to edit the rest. This is a great deal and you can’t lose! You can contact me through my email: christine_rice@charter.net

Thank you, everyone, for your support – for following this blog and reading my work. If you weren’t here, I’d have no one to write this to, so I am truly grateful. I hope I can extend the same support to you.

Checking in for the Week

Posted in Books, Editing, Publishing, Reading tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 7:29 am by Christine Rice

It’s been almost a week since my last post. The blog tour is currently being assembled. I spent a lot of time on Book Blogs trying to gain tour participants. Thanks to everyone who is participating! I really appreciate your generosity. I’ll be writing at least a couple of guest posts, there are eleven book reviews and seven interviews set up so far, plus one author bio and one excerpt for good measure. It’s going to be exciting! I can’t wait! If you’re scheduled to be on my blog tour, please email me with the date you want to reserve during the first three weeks of September (if you haven’t already). I will also be sending out a reminder email at the end of this week.

Freelance Writing Guide is coming along great! I am impressed by how it is turning out with the edits. I have finalized 7 out of 22 chapters, and I’m almost halfway through page-wise. I’m working on getting it all finalized by mid-month (middle of next week!).

I’ve also been reading a lot! I’m trying to keep up with my 3 books a month review schedule, while also editing and publishing my book. I have not overwhelmed myself too much this month. I had to decline some opportunities so that I will not have a nervous breakdown from it all ;)

I’m reading The Zul Enigma. I will be posting a review, probably sooner than later, since it is such a great book and I’m flying through the 500+ pages. I find it hard not to talk about the books I’m reading when they are really good. I love this one, because it is science-fiction and has a positive message and an adventuresome plot. It is definitely a page-turner!

Well, that’s about it. I hope you all have a great week!
